Good day to you all and my how busy you have all been! It’s so great to see what is happening with all of you.

So without further ado, this is what you’ve all been up to.

What Our Members Are Up To

  • As well as starring in the new MacMillan Cancer spot, landing her first Doctor Who (Episode 9), and voicing Gaia in Horizon: Zero Dawn, London newcomer Lesley Ewen is also ‘The Law’ in CAT AND MOUSE, a new, 4 star work by Paul Barritt, genius animator from 1927 Theatre, a full-length animated film, accompanied by a live prog-rock cartoon music score. 8pm, Fri Sept 15th, Brighton Digital Festival, Old Market Theatre.
  • Kat Rogers of KatAlyst Productions brings The House will run at The Maltings Arts Theatre from Thursday 14th – Saturday 16th September. It will then be moving onto The Bread & Roses Theatre in October.
  • Carolyn Lyster performed in A Little Night Music over at the Frinton Summer Theatre in August.
  • Luke Harding will be jetting off to Saudi Arabia over September to perform in The Jungle Book out there. Bon voyage, Luke!
  • Pat Garrett is busy as usual – while rehearsing A Destiny With Death for the Camden Fringe Festival at the Cockpit Theatre, Pat has also just played lead roles in two 25 minute short films.  She was Matilda in the two-hander film There Will Always Be An England and Susan in Womanhood. This month she starts rehearsals for the full length version of The Box, which will play from the 2nd to the 7th October at 8.30pm at the White Bear Theatre in Kennington.
  • Sophie Gilpin, artistic director of HeadFirst Productions brings together a collection of the UK’s most exciting theatre makers in A Festival of Sex, Love and Death from 26 October to 4 November at the Pleasance in Islington.
  • Anthony Shrubsall and Edmund Dehn have just been in Berlin for the Gala Opening of Theater Auf’m Kahn. Edmund performed in a sneak preview of Death of a Hunter, the one-man show about the death of Ernest Hemingway by Rolf Hochhuth. The full show premieres on 21st Sept here and then runs for a week.
  • Robert Cohen performs in Men Without Friends at the Stroud Theatre Festival.
  • Dave Spencer (yours truly) directs one of So & So’s co-production Window at the Bread & Roses Theatre until 16 September, it would be great to have some So & So support!
  • And finally, Susan Penhaligon is on tour with Cabaret, directed by Rufus Norris and starring Will Young.

New Members

And welcome to our (re)newest members – Neil Humphrey, Matilda Velevitch, Kasia Rozycki, Francis de Cruz, and Claire McArdle.And to reiterate about the fabulous new pop-up venue Sarah and I have been hard at work on – So & So Streatham really will be something special we think.. We are offering special hire deals throughout September and also special rates to So & Sos. The important thing to remember is that you pay hire and tech fees and then you keep 100% of the net box office! How amazing is that? Bargain.
